Dedicated to Compassionate Support and Advocacy for Breast Cancer Survivors

PINK "ME"® is a nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Michelle P. Bean in 2020, dedicated to supporting women battling breast cancer and those on their journey towards survivorship. As a two-time breast cancer survivor herself, Dr. Bean embodies the mission of PINK "ME", emphasizing the importance of being a help to others and sharing one's journey. The organization focuses on raising awareness about breast cancer, particularly the significance of early detection through screenings:

Our Primary Goals

At PINK "ME", our mission is to walk alongside breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families with compassion, practical support, and life-saving resources. These are the goals that guide our work every day.

1. Expand Financial Assistance Programs

We are committed to increasing awareness in cancer centers and communities about the financial support available through PINK “ME.” Our assistance helps cover medical bills, living expenses, and other essential needs—supporting patients and survivors on the path to healing, stability, and long-term wellness.

2. Secure More Funding & Grants

To continue meeting the growing needs of our community, we are strengthening the financial foundation of our organization by:

  • Launching a recurring monthly donation program

  • Expanding corporate sponsorship and workplace giving opportunities

  • Increasing grant applications and building strong relationships with funding partners

3. Grow the Mammograms Matter NM Initiative

Early detection saves lives. Through partnerships with clinics and imaging centers across New Mexico, we work to:

  • Provide free and low-cost mammogram screenings

  • Remove barriers for underserved and uninsured women

  • Expand education on breast health and early detection

Our goal is to make essential screenings accessible to every woman, no matter her circumstances.

4. Strengthen Organizational Sustainability

To grow responsibly and serve more families, we are investing in the infrastructure that keeps our mission strong. This includes technology upgrades, streamlined internal systems, and building a dedicated team to support long-term impact and continued excellence.

5. Expand Volunteer Engagement

Volunteers are the heart of PINK “ME.” We aim to:

  • Recruit and train compassionate volunteers

  • Create meaningful roles that support programs and outreach

  • Strengthen community involvement and expand our service capacity

Together, we can reach more families and extend more hope.

6. Grow the No Hunger Project

No one facing breast cancer should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Through this initiative, we:

  • Provide meals and grocery assistance to patients and their families

  • Partner with food banks, grocery retailers, and community organizations to expand distribution

  • Offer nutritional support that eases burdens during treatment and recovery
